Indeed, Lady Lazarus is a masterpiece. I have just bought an edition of Plath’s poems based on the order and arrangement of the original manuscripts. It is very interesting indeed. I now want to re-read “The Bell Jar”, waiting for me on a wooden shelf in Buenos Aires.

Tell me how the exercise went. It is more of a way of feeling than anything..you see, the core, the essence of the writing impulse. Sounds like you’re in for a treat!

Oh Lady Lazarus! Sublime poem! Words without waste. Just perfect. Plath was a morbid lover of the perfection, that was her glory and her ruin.
I´ll try this Double Vie de Véronique exercise you noticed (sunny afternoon, rocking chair, good authors…la joie de vivre).
